Brendan Gregg is a performance engineer, kernel engineer, and author. He is the author of the book "Systems Performance" (Prentice Hall, 2013), which uses Linux as the primary example OS, and he gave the keynote at SCaLE12x on Linux and Solaris performance. He is the recipient of the USENIX 2013 LISA Award for Outstanding Achievement in System Administration. His recent work includes developing methodologies and visualizations for performance analysis of the Linux kernel.
